November 15, 2024 Children in Need
Anti Bullying Week and Children in Need
Next week, from Monday 11th to Friday 15th November, is Anti-Bullying Week. As part of this, on Tuesday 12th November, we invite all children to wear odd socks to school. This annual event represents our individuality and unique identity.
Competition
We're also running an exciting competition as part of Anti-Bullying Week.
We'd like students to create new anti-bullying posters around the theme "Choose Respect". These could include practical advice for children on how to be respectful at Awsworth. Entries can be designed using pens, crayons or a computer, and should be submitted by Thursday 14th November. On Friday 15th, pupils will vote for the winning entries, with the winners receiving a gift voucher prize. For further ideas please visit; Anti-Bullying Week 2024: Choose Respect (anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk)
Friday 15th November - Children in Need.
On this day, we're asking children to come to school in their pyjamas, onesies or other comfortable attire, while donating £1 to this worthy cause. In the afternoon, we would like to sell cakes to raise even more money. We'd be grateful for any donations of store-bought or baked cakes - including gluten-free and dairy-free options. Please remember we are a nut-free school. Please bring any contributions to school from Monday 11th November.
I'm really looking forward to these events and the opportunity to celebrate our school community's individuality, compassion and generosity. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to the welfare of our children.
